Plasti-cake is a story straight from the intuitive, non-logical side of my brain. It is set in a place called Cylinder City, which is an amalgam of places I have lived. The world Cylinder City belongs to seems a match for contemporary Earth but it is filled with anachronisms and strange characters. Sometimes it feels like a dream, but it isn't a dream. Sometimes it feels like magical realism, but it isn't. Sometimes it feels like stream of consciousness, but it isn't. The journey for the reader is a journey towards working out what it is they are reading.
